Distrupol expands distribution agreement with Lucite International to DACH region

DISTRUPOL EXPANDS DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT WITH LUCITE INTERNATIONAL TO DACH REGION

Newly acquired distribution rights will strengthen Distrupol’s position as polymer partner of choice across Germany, Austria and Switzerland

SURREY, England, November 2024 – Distrupol, a leading distributor of thermoplastics and elastomers to the polymer processing industry and an affiliate of GPD Companies, Inc. (“GPD”), today announced that it has been awarded distribution rights for the Diakon®, Elvakon® and Elvacite® PMMA brands from Lucite International Alpha BV (part of Mitsubishi Chemical Group) across the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland)

Distrupol expanded into the DACH region in January 2024, with an initial portfolio of polyamides, acetal, polyethylene, polypropylene, ABS, polycarbonate, additives, compounds and masterbatch, from key supply partners including Celanese and Toray. Recognising the demand for advanced acrylic materials in the DACH region, and already having a successful, long-standing relationship with Lucite International in the regions; UK, Ireland, Nordics and Benelux, and now obtaining distribution rights for Lucite International’s PMMA materials for Germany, Austria and Switzerland is a huge achievement for the Distrupol business as a whole.

Lucite International manufactures standard and customised polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA polymer) in a range of variants and colours. With 60 years’ heritage in the acrylics industry, Lucite has a depth of application expertise which, coupled with its flexible assets, enables it to develop bespoke product solutions in partnership with its distributors and customers.
