Agon® is a functionalised portfolio of SSBR (Solution Styrene Butadiene Rubber) and BR (Butadiene Rubber) grades.

Agon® SSBR

S-SBR is the family of choice for the manufacturing of top performance tyres. The anionic polymerisation allows to obtain tailored micro and macro-structure to optimise the trade-off between wet grip and rolling resistance and abrasion resistance.

AGON® SOL R X FZ595 and FZ360 are a new generation of functionalised grades with improved rolling resistance, wet grip and abrasion resistance. They are designed for summer, winter and all-season tyres. FZ360 is a low Tg grade.

Agon® BR

Butadiene rubbers/elastomers (BR) are characterised by an excellent resistance to abrasion, high resilience/rebound, good resistance to fatigue cracking and crack growth. Their extremely low glass transition temperature provides enhanced low temperature performance compared to other general-purpose rubbers.

• Excellent abrasion and wear resistance
• Excellent dynamic fatigue resistance (or flex resistance) and therefore an improved cut growth resistance
• Low hysteresis, i.e. low heat build-up and low rolling resistance
• High elasticity, particularly at low temperatures
• Good reversion resistance in comparison to NR
• Improved compound flow

The contribution of such properties to the compound depends on the blend ratio with the other elastomers mentioned and on the macrostructure of the polybutadiene itself.

Agon® HCIS X41HP is a 97% cis content BR. It is recommended for high performance tyre tread and sidewall. Recommended for silica tread compounds containing functionalised polymers

All families of the elastomers portfolio are available as Balance®, where the bio-attribution share can vary depending on the product. Bio Attribute, Bio-Circular Attribute and Circular Attributed polymers, manufactured with the same technology used for standard polymers but using monomers obtained from sustainable feedstocks managed according to Mass Balance approach, guarantee the same performances, quality, and properties of standard products, as they do not differ in chemical composition and molecular structure. BA, BCA and CA products are ISCC PLUS certified and are provided with a sustainability declaration reporting the percentage of Bio, Bio-Circular or Circular Attributed component.
