LG LUPOY® PC/ASA blend is an engineering thermoplastic often used where weatherability is required.
It offers a balanced performance in toughness and processability, mechanical properties with good chemical stability, good UV resistance, with colourability and colour stability.
ASA improves the processability and low temperature impact strength of PC similar to ABS in LUPOY PC/ABS blends, however ASA is more colour stable when exposed to various light sources. PC contributes to high temperature resistance and to toughness at room temperature.
The portfolio offers products including general purpose, low gloss and flame retardant to resist or delay fire from spreading etc.
The property balance of LG LUPOY PC/ASA is controlled by the ratio of PC and ASA in the blend, the polycarbonate molecular weight and the additive package.
PC/ASA is commonly used in unpainted automotive exterior and electrical applications (enclosures, domes) where outdoor weatherability is required.
