Sumika Polymer Compounds is widely recognised as a leader in the technology of mineral filled and chemically coupled, glass fibre reinforced polypropylene.
The Thermofil® range exists of engineering grades based on a wide variety of mineral fillers and other speciality reinforcements - including high temperature and chemically resistant low warp grades for metal replacement applications.
Examples of applications are:
- Automotive: high temperature and high toughness under-hood components – replacing glass fibre polyamide and polyester whilst delivering substantial weight reduction.
- Appliances: dynamically stressed components such as structural drums for front loading washing machines with detergent resistance accredited to UL® standards.
- Engineering: fast cycling grades for thick wall applications in air movement fans and chemical plant - including grades specially modified for structural foam moulding.
