Versalis has developed Pharmalene® medical grades by selecting a few high-quality products, which have outstanding purity, reliability and consistency, appropriate for healthcare applications.

Pharmalene® includes different polyethylene grades for rigid and flexible products, ensuring consistency of formulation over the time in a wide variety of end‑uses including: medical devices (syringes, catheters, valves) pharmaceutical and diagnostic packaging, both primary packaging (e.g. in direct contact with the active substance) and secondary packaging (e.g. not in direct contact with the packed drug or fluid).

Versalis issues the conformity statement of pharmacopoeia for Pharmalene® grades declaring that, if supplied in original packaging, they fulfill by composition the requirements of the pharmacopoeia monographs for polyolefins to be used in medical and pharmaceutical applications.
