Auto-injector pens provide a fast, easy, reliable, safe and repeatable method of injecting medicine. Allergies are the most well-known reason for carrying and using an auto-injector pens. In this instance, they contain adrenaline (epinephrine) which can be administered should the user come into contact with anything they are allergic to.
Recent developments in traditionally designed injector pens have pushed design boundaries, with smaller and more compact devices being developed. It is also possible for more viscous drug solutions to be used. It is these two challenges in particular where Delrin® SC (special control) excels, as its extra mechanical properties allow for parts to be made thinner and smaller, whilst delivering the same performance of a thicker, less compact copolymer acetal moulding.
Delrin® SC is a medically approved portfolio of homopolymer acetal. Compared to acetal copolymer, Delrin® acetal homopolymer offers higher tensile strength, stiffness, creep and fatigue resistance, and significantly higher impact resistance.
