Dye diffusion printing is a unique printing process that works by firing ink into the surface of plastic. Originating in the 1960s, the method has recently advanced in sophistication. This makes it extremely difficult to scratch or damage as the ink sits microns under the surface of the polymer. The process has been widely used to improve the aesthetics of consumables such as mobile phone covers, but the process can work on any 3D shape.
Crastin® PBT has proven to be one of the best polymers for this process and is chosen over many polymers for its suitability. It has been printed with many effects including wood and tortoise shell, as well as other stylish graphics.
