Farming and Domestic Irrigation

Whether industrial or domestic, caring for crops requires routine maintenance and watering. Effective watering can be achieved through a standard garden hose or slightly more sophisticated irrigation systems. Irrigation systems for the home have become extremely discreet; they can be submerged underground and programmed to appear when it’s time to water. These systems are a construction of sliding Delrin® acetal mouldings that provide excellent dimensional stability, so that they slide together seamlessly without jamming or failing. Quick fit connections for garden hoses also use Delrin® homopolymer acetal.

Compared to acetal copolymer, Delrin® acetal homopolymer offers higher tensile strength, stiffness, creep and fatigue resistance, and significantly higher impact resistance. The extra mechanical properties of Delrin® allow for parts to be made thinner and smaller, whilst delivering the same performance of a thicker, less compact copolymer acetal moulding.
