Delrin® homopolymer acetal supports the effective and efficient routing of all the complex wiring harnesses around a vehicle, as well as attaching interior panels to the steel framework of the vehicle. Designs can rely on spring legs that collapse whilst being pushed through a hole and spring back into position, which provides a good hold against the vehicle. Due to the design opportunities with Delrin® acetal, such mechanisms can be fitted with one push, with no need for secondary components or tools.
Compared to acetal copolymer, Delrin® acetal homopolymer offers higher tensile strength, stiffness, creep and fatigue resistance, and significantly higher impact resistance. The extra mechanical properties of Delrin® allow for parts to be made thinner and smaller, whilst delivering the same performance of a thicker, less compact copolymer acetal moulding.
